Dentistry runs in Ellen's family and it's more than just an occupation. For her, it is a passion and she is eager to educate her patients about proper oral health and care.

At the age of 11 Ellen started working in her father's dental practice in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. As she grew up she traveled with her father, Dr. Dale Garrels, attending dental meetings accross the country. Ellen received her Bachelor of Science Degree in dental hygiene in 1979 from the University of Iowa and moved to Evergreen in 1983. She continued her education at the University of Colorado Health Sciences where she became certified in anesthesia and nitrous oxide.

Ellen is proud to have 30 years of experience treating patients with her gentle touch approach. She has an abundance of information and is excited to provide eductaion about periodontal disease and research linking it to systemic diseases. Ellen has an interest in natural health and nutrition, and uses natural products such as Young Living Oil, Oxyfresh and OHCO.
